Antenna work March 2024 with Rich M5RIC

At the end of March 2024, Rich M5RIC came to stay at the GW8DX QTH for a few days to help with some antenna work; we spent the time preparing/installing a four-level guying system for tower one, removing a 7 element 10m Yagi that Ian G3WVG used for ARRL DX 10m single entries in the CW and Phone event and replacing it with a GXP 14-4 quad-band HF Yagi (3L 40m, 3L 20m, 3L 15m and 5L 10m). With the help of David my closest neighbour, we also got some substantial 8ft posts 'knocked' into the ground to support a 600' bi-wire reversible Beverage system. The weather was surprisingly dry and we hardly got wet - a rare occurrence at 1000' ASL in West Wales. We also installed a TP Link CPE-710 Pharos internet link, so a fast and reliable internet service is now available in the shack, 300 metres from the main Starlink installation down at the house.

A fast internet connection in the shack is a very welcome addition.
