In March 2025, after a long winter, antenna work restarted at GW8DX. Over 500 metres of Andrew Heliax LDF4-50FR was trenched to the base of three towers plus rotator cables and CAT6 cables (for future expansion). Work also started to comprehensively ground everything within the station from equipment to towers and feeders, using a large quantity of custom-made, extra heavy duty tinned copper ground straps. At the base of each of the three 120ft towers, an IP66+ spec cabinet has been installed where feedlines for the directional HF Yagi antennas will be seriously choked and grounded. Everything is spec'd for100% FT8 duty cycle at triple legal limit. At all frequencies, all total coax losses from antenna to PA are <1.0db. A new base was also installed close to the shack for a Versatower BP80HD which will be used at ~12m as a dedicated 6m tower supporting a 10 element long-boom Yagi from YU1CF.
